Joy of six as Bhoys claim title
SCOTT SINCLAIR scored a hat-trick as Celtic eased to a sixth straight Scottish Premiership title with eight games to spare.
The thumping win at Hearts, with Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts also scoring, ensured Brendan Rodgers’ side have an unassailable 25-point lead over secondplaced Aberdeen.
Celtic have dropped just four points all season and have now given former Liverpool boss Rodgers a first title as manager.
He said: “My job when I came in was to win it in the best way we possibly could.
“We have had many outstanding performances but we have only just begun because there’s still an awful lot of development in this team. That’s the real exciting part.
“The Hearts win typifies how they’ve been for the majority of the season, their attitude, determination, style and intensity.
“We knew it would be tough game and to win a pressure game like that is a remarkable achievement from the players.
“We take the energy and hunger from training into games and, from a coaching perspective, that’s great to see.
“The fans have been behind the team from day one. Everyone deserves a huge amount of credit, the players, staff and supporters.”
Sinclair said: “It was a good memory to come off the bench here on my Celtic debut and score the winner and now I’m back and scoring a hat-trick and winning the game and winning the title.
“It means so much to me after all I’ve been through in the last few years, not knowing where my career was going to end up.”
