Now we are leaving the EU, MPs are complainin­g that the Commons’ time is going to be taken up by Brexit legislatio­n, leaving little room for anything else.

The answer is clear. Give local authoritie­s responsibi­lity for important areas such as education and social services. They are closer to the people who use these services and would be able to respond more effectivel­y to needs. Geoff Naylor Winchester, Hants

We want to reiterate what AP Miller said about Radio 2 putting Tony Blackburn on at 6am on Saturdays (Letters, March 27). The BBC should replace Brian Matthew’s 8am slot with Tony and leave Dermot O’Leary’s dull show to the afternoon where it belongs.

Listening to Theresa May in Parliament, she repeatedly told the House that the Government is putting more money into various services. Considerin­g George Osborne persistent­ly told us the country was broke and was trillions in debt, could she tell us where all this money is coming from and why people are struggling to survive?
