And he later revealed he does not know what his future holds after being given an 18-month suspended sentence for fraud. The 69-year-old said: “Being a priest is a lifetime commitment, and I am still a priest. My future now is in the hands of the bishop. This has already been dealt with. I have written to the parishione­rs and that letter was read out in a public meeting.”
