LEGEND Zinedine Zidane OUTSIDER 2/1 bet Wlad TONIGHT’S heavyweigh­t world title showdown will have a record £25million in bets in the UK riding on the result, said bookmakers.

And worldwide £100million could be wagered on Anthony Joshua’s battle with Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

Coral has Joshua odds-on favourite at 2-5 to defend his IBF title and claim the vacant WBA crown, while Klitschko is 2-1.

It said: “The contest is set to smash betting records on boxing as we expect £25million to be wagered. Patriotic punters have been backing Joshua like defeat is out of the question.” He had also been heavily backed for the BBC Sports Personalit­y of the Year, at 2/1.

William Hill has Joshua at 4/9 with two bets of £10,000, one from Coventry and one from Paisley in Scotland. Its price on Klitschko is 2/1 and one punter from Slovakia staked £6,750.

A spokesman said: “This fight could propel Joshua to superstard­om and could be the biggest match, in terms of betting, of all time.”
