‘Copycat Westminster knifeman’ is named

-

THE terror suspect arrested near Westminster was named yesterday as Khalid Mohamed Omar Ali.

Reports suggest the 27-year-old was intercepted after a concerned family member contacted authorities.

Ali is believed to be a British national who was born overseas and went to school in Tottenham, North London.

He was detained by armed officers after a stop and search as part of an “intelligence-led” operation yards from the scene of last month’s murder of PC Keith Palmer by Khalid Masood. Ali remains in custody, having been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act and possession of offensive weapons. Police recovered knives after their swoop.

Police are continuing to question Ali, while searches take place in London.
