Sean’s on a role . . . thanks to Mary

WELL I NEVER!

South Korean broadcaster SBS felt the need to brighten up a dull presidential election result.

So they transformed winning liberal candidate Moon Jae-in, rival Hong Joon-pyo and other candidates into Game Of Thrones characters for a video summary.

And SBS even created graphics of South Korean politicians riding dragons and donning the robes of House Stark. Enjoy your time on the, er, throne Mr Moon.

THERE was a health scare for Mary in Corrie last night after Norris made her lick and seal a load of envelopes.

Downing tools in protest, Mary declared she was worried she had suffered a “repetitive strain injury of the tongue”.

Sounds scary, Mary. But I bet there’s a cure for it.

Alex Jones and Matt Baker will surely be hoping there is after that interview with Theresa May and her live-in bin man on The One Show the other night.

As for Mary, her suffering had only just begun. Shortly after the RSI scare, she was cruelly doublecrossed by Sean, of all people.

In a storyline which I am sure was in no way “inspired” by Car Share’s brilliantly banal Forever FM, Mary had been desperately trying to win the local radio’s naff phone-in contest.

The question was: “What goes up and down but never moves?”

Mary made the schoolgirl error of blurting out the answer – stairs – to Sean in the Kabin and 10 minutes later he was on the phone scooping the prize.

When pressed, Sean later claimed that he had only entered on behalf ot Mary (Patti Clare, right)

But then he would say that, wouldn’t he?

Either way – after the months he has spent in storyline oblivion – it was nice to see Antony Cotton finally picking up some crumbs. If that sounded a bit snidey, I swear that it wasn’t meant to be. It just seems like Corrie’s former golden boy can barely get a sniff any more. Even mute EastEnders barmaid Tracey has been having more of a show than him lately. Come on, writers – what’s the point of having him there if you aren’t going to use him?
