ITV, 8pm

WHETHER it’s show jumping or dressage (that event where horses trot around like they’re in a dance video), this equestrian event is entertaining even if horses aren’t your thing.

BBC1, 9.30pm David Harewood, the British star of hit drama Homeland, is at the helm of the current affairs quiz show tonight.

The actor, who also appears in US series Supergirl, is one of those people whose name always gets bandied about on the lists of who could be the next James Bond or Doctor Who.

Perhaps team captains and veteran news hounds Paul Merton and Ian Hislop will be able to sniff out some information from him tonight about any upcoming TV or movie roles we should know about. Anyway, the week in news is the focus of the night, as David does his best to control proceedings – largely impossible given the tendency for Paul or Ian to launch into a rant at the drop of a hat.

Journalist and TV presenter Kirsty Wark and comedian Josh Widdicombe are also along for the ride as they join Paul and Ian as guest panellists.

And, as the run-up to the general election intensifies, there will be plenty for them all to feast on as they laugh about the events of the past week.
