Shrapnel hits schoolmates

THREE pupils from the same school are recovering from shrapnel injuries after being caught in the blast.

In all, 32 students from Haslingden High School, Lancs, were at the concert.

Head Mark Jackson said two, including Ella Mcgovern, 14, had been sent home from hospital. A third is still having treatment. He added that the injuries were not life threatening or life-changing.

Mr Jackson revealed that the school was offering support to pupils, parents and staff. He said: “What some of the children have gone through is horrendous.”
