TAIN IN BLOOM

-

Sometimes it’s not just the flowers that are the star of the show – sometimes the residents take centre stage.

Judges were treated to a Mad Hatter’s tea party in Llandudno, Wales, in 2015 when the seaside town decided on an Alice in Wonderland-themed entry.

Alice Liddell, the young girl who inspired Lewis Carroll to write his famous story, visited Llandudno on holiday with her family in 1861.

Judge Rae Beckwith says: “We had no idea they had got that planned and it was great fun. MADNESS Llandudno’s tea party

Everyone was in fancy dress and there was a White Rabbit that reminded us not to linger or we’d be late. You never know what to expect when judging Britain in Bloom. It’s fantastic.”
