VISIT Emma Sidi and Sally Phillips BBC1, 9.30pm

Sally Phillips guest stars tonight, which is a breath of fresh air for the mockumentary starring one-man band Tom Binns.

She plays snobby MP Helena Steel, who has arrived with her aide (Emma Sidi) to open the new ward at Brimlington Hospital.

Manager Susan Mitchell (Binns) is desperate to impress, delegating endless ridiculous tasks to her assistant manager Sunny (Amit Shah).

“Get rid of that smell,” she orders. What smell? “That hospital smell”.

Sunny also has to gather a welcoming committee consisting of photogenic patients who don’t look too infectious.

Meanwhile, Hospital Radio stalwart Ivan (Binns) embraces Backwards Day. He is wearing his clothes backwards, he drove to work backwards... But it all inevitably causes chaos and there’s a nasty run-in with Susan.

Elsewhere, Father Kenny sees an opportunity to increase the audiences for his stand-up comedy material, while psychic porter Ian tries to find a place to practise.

And Susan’s enormous ribboncutting scissors hold her back when they get stuck to the MRI scanner.
