Don’t act too Rash, Gareth

-

MARCUS RASHFORD is now an established senior player, well ahead of Wayne Rooney in pecking orders for both club and country.

If, as seems inevitable, the 19-year-old does not go to the Under-21 tournament in Poland next month, it is the right decision.

Dele Alli is eligible and the Under-21 management team would not dream of including him in the England squad.

The reason Rashford (left) will not be going, though, is that if there were any physical repercussions of him playing in the Under-21 Euros, Gareth Southgate would have alienated the manager of Manchester United, probably for good.

Southgate started with noble ideas that tournament experience would be good for the likes of Rashford, but is quickly learning it is not just his FA masters he must keep happy over the next couple of years. THE Spanish Supreme Court has, for tax fraud, confirmed a 21-month prison sentence that he will never is serve, proving no one better at getting out of tight spaces than Lionel Messi.
