CHOICE SHAW WAS A SHOCK

CHRIS ROBSHAW has told of his surprise at getting back the England armband.

Robshaw was sacked as captain after the 2015 World Cup. But Eddie Jones, who stripped him of the role and had questioned his impact at international level, reappointed him for Sunday’s friendly against Barbarians.

With first-choice skipper Dylan Hartley unavailable, Harlequins star Robshaw (above) can lead England out at Twickenham again. Asked if he thought those days had gone, he said: “Yep, especially with what Eddie said about me early on.”
