Tories the nastiest says Downton star

DOWNTON Abbey star Peter Egan says that, so far as animals are concerned, the Tories are the “nastiest party the country’s ever seen”. The passionate animal rights campaigner is disgusted that Theresa May isn’t going to make good on the party’s long-standing pledge to “press for a total ban on ivory sales”. Egan, left, tells me: “One elephant is killed in Africa every 25 minutes by poachers and this will only get worse now the Tories have caved in to pressure from the antique trade. “It looks like we are in danger of electing a party that is for elephant poaching, fox hunting and the use of wild animals in circuses. I despair.”
