RORY INJURY SCARE AHEAD OF US OPEN
RORY McILROY has pulled out of next week’s Memorial Tournament in a bid to be fit for the US Open. The world No.2 (left) withdrew from the BMW PGA with a recurrence of a rib injury he first suffered in January. The Ulsterman has played only six events this season, his last at the Players Championship which finished on May 14 where he tied for 35th place. He last won at the Tour Championships in September – the week before the Ryder Cup. The US Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin starts on June 15.
