Boycott’s no bother for Cullen
STRIKER Mark Cullen hopes to put a smile back on the faces of long-suffering Blackpool fans with a Wembley win – even if the majority will not be there to witness it.
A boycott of home matches is to be extended to tomorrow’s final against Exeter with just over 5,000 tickets sold. They took 30,000 to the 2012 Championship play-off defeat.
Cullen has scored nine times in his last 14 appearances, including a hat-trick against Luton in the semi-finals.
He said: “For me, the boycott’s not been a distraction. Everyone here does their utmost to keep us separate from that. All we can concentrate on is training and playing the game itself.
“Obviously, it’s great when any club sells out their allocation at Wembley but, if not, it is still the occasion it is.
“The players and staff will be going there to enjoy the occasion and try to get the best result we can.
“It has been a tough period so to be able to put a bit of joy back into the fans will be really good.”
