SOLID BOND
Hearing of the death of Sir Roger Moore on Tuesday took me back to the 1970s – 1973 to be precise, the Southampton Odeon and a matinee screening of Live and Let Die starring Roger as a suave, tonguein-cheek James Bond, constantly living on the edge of a wise-crack or a raised eyebrow. I loved him.
And that feeling didn’t change when I met him years later, a grand, distinguished man, yet selfdeprecating and always armed with a joke. Full of wit. And wisdom.
Always good company. He will forever be the most loveable Bond.
