Footie lad, 12, dies in game

A BOY of 12 collapsed and died while playing football after school.

Friends and passersby tried to save James Cook on Wednesday. He was airlifted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

He fell ill at St John’s School and Sixth Form College in Bishop Auckland, Co Durham.

Det Insp Neil Jones, of Durham Police, said that there were no suspicious circumstances but inquiries are under way on behalf of the coroner.
