Lad got bomb lessons online

THE mum of a student jailed for 15 years for leaving a bomb on the Tube says he learnt how to make explosives on the internet.

Damon Smith, 20, from Devon, used an al-Qaeda recipe called “make a bomb in the kitchen of your mom”. He left the device, which did not go off, on a Jubilee line train at London Bridge on October 20 last year.

His mum, Antonitza Smith, 47, speaking before his sentencing, said: “He had all the recipes to make an explosive which he found on YouTube and Google.”
