Labour firm on Trident pledge
LABOUR’S defence chief has backed Jeremy Corbyn’s assurance they will not review Trident after the election.
Nia Griffith confirmed Labour would continue with the submarine-based defence system, saying: “We have a very clear party policy.”
Mr Corbyn is not a fan of Trident but has vowed to respect the party stance.
Ms Griffith also claimed a Labour government would “absolutely” keep up RAF bombing raids against ISIS.
She added: “We need to pursue Daesh wherever they recruit.”
