Fan steps in to end Hulk v Flash clash

- BY ADAM ASPINALL

FLASH Gordon and The Incredible Hulk came close to blows during a row at a comic show, it is claimed.

Sam J Jones, who played Flash in the 1980 film, and Lou Ferrigno – Hulk in the 1970s TV series – faced off as they signed autographs and posed for pictures.

Fan Darryn Clements, dressed as El Diablo from Suicide Squad, stepped in between 6ft 5in Ferrigno and 6ft 3in Jones at London’s Comic Con.

Darryn, 25 and 5ft 7in, of Chelmsford, Essex, said: “Lou was saying ‘You’re winding me up’. There was a lot of finger-jabbing and it was getting pretty nasty.”

Ferrigno, 65, declined to comment. Jones, 62, said he and the Hulk star teamed up to calm down arguing fans at the ExCel Centre, Docklands.
