Ederson Santana de Moraes August 17, 1993, Sao Paulo, Brazil Signed as a youth by Benfica from Sao Paulo in 2009. Spent time with Ribeirao and Rio Ave before returning to Benfica as a No.2 to Julio Cesar two years ago. He signed from Rio Ave for 500,000 euros and his contract included a 45m euros buy-out clause. Made his league debut on March 5, 2016 in the Lisbon derby as Benfica beat Sporting 1-0. He helped Benfica go on to win their third consecutive league title. The following week he played in a 6-2 win over Maritimo in the League Cup final. He also played three games in the Champions League as Benfica reached the quarter-finals. Has played for Brazil Under-23s.
