New mums in work ‘no win’
NEW mothers are viewed badly whether they take maternity leave or carry on working, a study showed.
Those who took time off were judged less committed to their job by workers – while those who stay on were seen to be less caring as parents.
Dr Thekla Morgenroth, of the University of Exeter, said: “This is a no-win situation for women.
“Both decisions had negative consequences in different domains.”
