Tory attacks on our kids are all snap – definitely no crackle and pop.

Our children are now enduring the first cuts in our education service since the 1990s.

Remember who was in power then? The Tories of Maggie Thatcher, the school milk snatcher.

In a country where our children are the first generation since the war to have poorer life chances than their parents, what the government of the day does with our schools matters.

That is why Labour looks at our children differently. They see hope. They see potential.

So cuts would end. Teachers would be able to focus on the A, B and Cs – not trying to raise a few pennies from parents for paper and pencils.

With Theresa May the Lunch Lifter, 250,000 of our neediest young people will lose their school meals.
