Hospital negligent over baby death

-

A HOSPITAL has admitted negligence after staff mistakenly monitored a mother’s heart rate instead of her baby’s.

Baby Sadie Pye was starved of oxygen at birth and died hours later.

Mum Danielle Johnston, 31, had her labour induced at the Royal Bolton in 2011 after developing diabetes.

Ms Johnston, of Salford, said: “I was in pain but I knew something wasn’t right.”

The hospital settled a case for an undisclosed sum and said it was “deeply sorry”.
