FBI ‘probes Farage over links with Trump’ amid Russia row

-

NIGEL Farage has dismissed claims that he faces an FBI probe over his links to Donald Trump.

It is alleged the former UKIP leader has become “a person of interest” as the agency investigates the ties between the US President and Russia.

According to reports, Mr Farage’s ties with Wikileaks founder Julian Assange are also up for FBI scrutiny.

But Mr Farage, who has praised Russian leader Vladimir Putin, said: “I’ve never been to Russia. I have never had business dealings with Russia.

“The idea I can be a ‘person of interest’ is frankly laughable.” Mr Farage was the first British politician to meet Mr Trump in the US after his election win last November.

Asked about the reported probe on Mr Farage, the FBI said: “We have no comment.”

“IF you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas” is advice Nigel Farage should have heeded now he’s reported to be a “person of interest” in an FBI probe into Russian interference in the US Presidential race.

Openly admiring Vladimir Putin sounds more unwise than ever and Farage may come to regret visiting fugitive Julian Assange.

We hear Farage’s protestations of innocence. But like so many who worked for or flaunted their closeness to Donald Trump, UKIP’s former leader can hardly complain about questions as evidence mounts of Putin’s desire to put the property tycoon in the White House.
