In the line of ire, Mozza’s a drip

-

How inspirational does that concert for the Manchester bomb victims promise to be with acts including Coldplay, Pharrell Williams and possibly Noel Gallagher performing.

And thankfully not Morrissey. Who was mightily peeved that his 58th birthday was spoilt by the bomb going off in his hometown.

In a Facebook post, he appeared to blame the terror act on “immigration” – despite the bomber being born in Manchester, and Morrissey himself being the son of Irish immigrants.

He also attacked politicians who “tell us they are unafraid but they are never the victims” as they’re “protected from the fire”. Many pointed out to him the name Jo Cox.

I’d like to point out something else, which I witnessed the last time I saw him sing in a northern arena similar to the one where those innocents died – one of his “fans” tossing a plastic cup of water at him when he was half-way through his second song.

His stoic reaction was to say “byebye” to his 10,000 fans, leave the stage and never return.

I don’t know about politicians, but I’ve never seen a performer so desperate to play the victim and be protected from the line of fire as him. Even when the fire was a drop of water.

Stay brave, Mozza. Stay brave.
