MARIANNE Heath, 68, was told in 2011 she had advanced ovarian cancer. It had spread to several places including her back and stomach. Chemotherapy no longer worked. Last September, the 68-year-old from Oxshott, Surrey, began a 12-week course of ONX-0801. During the trial all her tumours shrank and she is now considered to have stabilised the disease.

She said: “I’m delighted. I had next-to-no side effects. I just want to keep going so I can keep the tumours at a level where I can enjoy my life.”
