TIGERS ROAR FOR ENGLAND

ENGLAND named their latest Elite training squad this week and two players stood out for me.

The first is winger Greg Eden (left). He’s playing in a very good side at Castleford but his try-scoring record is incredible, especially the run he’s on now.

Then there’s his Tigers’ teammate Paul McShane, who has matured over the last few years. He always had the ability and skill, and now seems to have added attitude and application.

The squad has been chopped and changed and that’s a good thing because form dips and wavers. It has shown that selection is about players playing well and not reputation, which is how it should be.
