LOCH, COPS AND LAUGHS

-

The question of whether the Loch Ness monster exists will rumble on, but it’s no mystery why new ITV police drama The Loch is going to be a hit.

The Missing’s Laura Fraser and Happy Valley’s Siobhan Finneran play detectives probing a murder that rips apart a Scottish community.

But they managed to have fun on set. Laura, DS Annie Redford, said: “Every scene with Siobhan, I couldn’t stop laughing. She’s so hilarious.”

Siobhan, officer Laura Quigley, added: “When the subject matter is quite bleak [it] is a bit of light relief.”

The six-part series, penned by Silent Witness’s Stephen Brady, sees the women hunt a serial killer after a local man’s body is found and a human heart is left on the loch shore.

Glasgow-born Laura said: “I’d never been to a lot of the places we went to, which is disgraceful.” And she doesn’t believe in Nessie. She laughed: “I don’t think anyone really believes it’s real.” Don’t tell that to tourist shop owners.
