RAFA NADAL threatened to have an umpire banned from his matches after being hit with two time violations.

Yesterday Portuguese official Carlos Ramos warned the nine-time champion for taking more than the allowed 20 seconds between points. He then docked a first serve for a repeat offence.

During a heated discussion at the changeover in the first set, Nadal (above) told Ramos: “You are going to have to give me many more warnings because you are not going to be in the chair again.”

The No.4 seed, who still beat Roberto Bautista Agut 6-1 6-2 6-2, said: “He is an umpire I have had a lot of problems with in the past.”

Defending champion Novak Djokovic eased into the quarter-finals by outclassing Alberto Ramos-Vinolas 7-6 6-1 6-3.
