Theresa mustn’t seek re-election, says Cam advisor

-

ONE of David Cameron’s top advisers yesterday called on Theresa May to resign and not seek re-election over the terror attacks that have plagued Britain this year.

Steve Hilton, Mr Cameron’s director of strategy, accused Mrs May of trying to shift blame for the London and Manchester terror attacks.

On Twitter, he wrote: “Theresa May blame-shifting again. Her spin doctors attack MI5, but she was in charge of them for years.” He said she “should be resigning not seeking re-election”.

Mr Hilton was known as Cameron’s “blue sky thinker” until he quit No 10 in 2012 and worked closely with Mrs May at the top of Government.

Mrs May dismissed his comments, saying: “I don’t think I’m the only person in Westminster who has found themselves on the receiving end of a few comments from Steve Hilton.”
