Staylittle? Hi there, this is 2017 calling...
A REMOTE village called Staylittle has finally left the “dark ages” after getting mobile phone and wifi access for the first time.
The agricultural spot in Powys, Wales, had limped on with just an old landline connection that was prone to failing for weeks.
But O2 has now installed a 4G mast on the hill overlooking the village.
David Penn had fought for it since moving there 17 years ago – and has now sent his first text message.
The 74-year-old said: “We started a petition and took it to the BT building in London. It was very isolating until we got the mast. Having a mobile signal is taken for granted.”
Mum-of-two Becky Williams, 34, added: “We live in a beautiful place but it was in the dark ages.”
