Twins are at a peak
ENGLAND’S Joe Root and Kiwi king Kane Williamson share so many attributes they could be twin brothers.
The rival 26-year-old Test skippers scored a ton in their opening Champions Trophy matches – and both are silent assassins with the bat.
New Zealand opener Martin Guptill said: “Obviously, they’re both world-class players.
“They’re pretty similar, and they can both be destructive without hitting those massively big shots – they kill teams softly.
“So if either one gets in, you know it could be a long day for the fielding team.
“They’re not going to go out and blast at a 160 strikerate through the innings where someone like Brendon McCullum will come out and do his thing right there.
“They’ll build an innings. So it’s a master class when they get going.”
