CELTIC have come in for some stick in recent weeks even though they’ve cleaned up this season. “It’s a Mickey Mouse league,” that type of stuff. But for winning the SPL a year ago they pocketed little more than £2million — this time out it was a little less than £3m — and still they competed, pound for pound, against Manchester City in the Champions League group stage. It’s time we stopped slagging off other countries and asked why, for all their money, Premier League clubs aren’t currently doing much better.
