‘Abedi used an old Nissan as bomb store’
EVIDENCE The Micra A NISSAN Micra seized last week may have been used by Salman Abedi to store bombmaking equipment before his suicide attack at Manchester Arena, police believe.
Abedi bought the white R-reg Nissan on April 13, two days before flying to Libya. On his return, he made repeated trips to it between May 18 and May 22. The car was found outside flats in Rusholme, Manchester, on June 2.
Hundreds of people were evacuated as it was examined. Det Chief Supt Russ Jackson said “significant evidence” was found inside, and he appealed for information on the car’s movements in the days before Abedi’s attack.
