Tory cuts deny school repairs
CHILDREN are being taught in crumbling classrooms because Tory cuts have blocked £1.7billion of repairs, the Lib Dems said yesterday.
They called it a “disgrace” and said schools had to use £1.2billion from budgets meant for teachers and equipment to fix the decay.
The party said it would invest £7billion on restoring every school in England.
MP Sarah Olney said: “This will allow budgets to be spent on teachers instead of being diverted to fix leaking roofs.”
