Bertrand’s exit alert

MANCHESTER CITY are on alert because Ryan Bertrand wants to join defender Virgil van Dijk in quitting Southampton.

Saints were already reeling from Van Dijk’s revelation that he wants to join Liverpool in a potential £60million move – and now Bertrand also wants out.

The 27-year-old has told pals that he believes he will move this summer, with City, former club Chelsea and Liverpool all keen.

City have stepped up their interest after failing to agree a deal for Monaco’s £40m-rated Benjamin Mendy. But Chelsea are also interested in re-signing England left-back Bertrand.
