Mrs May wins with majority of 20
This would be a similar majority to that enjoyed by the Conservatives before the election.
However Mrs May would be returned a weakened figure.
Tory MPs will be furious that she held an unnecessary election which exposed her weaknesses and raised major doubts about her judgment. Questions will be asked about how long Mrs May can stay in office.
Her room to appoint a Cabinet to her own liking will be limited and she will be vulnerable to both Leave and Remain factions in her party.
The threat of Tory revolts on Brexit, spending cuts and public sector reforms will be heightened.
