Mushroom is ‘wonder’ find

THE world’s oldest mushroom, from 115 million years ago, has been found.

The remains are remarkable because fungi are soft and rarely seen in fossils.

Dr Sam Heads, of the University of Illinois, called the two-inch mushroom, spotted in rocks from Brazil, a “scientific wonder”.
