Prince’s joyful reunion with war hero’s widow
PRINCE Harry has an emotional reunion with an elderly war widow as adoring fans brave the rain to welcome him to Sydney.
The royal first met Daphne Dunne, 97, in 2015 when she gave him a peck on the cheek at the end of his spell with the Australian Defence Force. Daphne – wearing the Victoria Cross awarded posthumously to her war hero husband Albert – said: “He kissed me on the other cheek this time. He is a lovely young man.” Harry, 32, was in stormy Sydney yesterday to promote his Invictus Games for injured troops, which the city will host next year. He told locals: “I promise you some of the best, most competitive, uplifting and inspiring sport you will ever see.”
