SIMONA HALEP saved a match point before reaching the semi-finals – although she only realised afterwards.

The Romanian (top, left) today faces Karolina Pliskova, but needed a stunning comeback against Elina Svitolina (top, right) when she lost the first set and trailed 5-1 in the second.
