NOW BLACK CATS PRAY FOR MONK
GARRY MONK has emerged as a major managerial target for Sunderland.
The Black Cats are going head-to-head with Middlesbrough to try and capture the former Leeds and Swansea boss (left).
Boro appeared to be in the driving seat for Monk, seeking to make a permanent appointment back in the Championship after one season.
They have made contact about taking charge after Steve Agnew stood in following Aitor Karanka’s departure.
But Boro face competition from NorthEast rivals Sunderland as they believe 38-year-old Monk, who quit Elland Road last month, could be ideal to shake things up in the wake of David Moyes.
