‘Fearful’ England

GARETH SOUTHGATE has the best squad for a decade – but England are gripped by fear.

That is the warning from former Russia boss Leonid Slutsky, who saw his team draw with the Three Lions at Euro 2016 last summer.

Slutsky, set to be named the new Hull City boss, said: “England have the best squad for 10 years, a really strong squad.

“But there seems to be a lack of confidence.

“Reaching the finals of tournaments is no problem but as soon as England get there, there seems to be a problem and that must be mental.”
