Just months before, Markham described Edwards as “the most beautiful person in all excistance (sic)”. She replied: “Awww you are so cute and romantic, I love you xxxxxx”
This prompted Markham to respond: “Not as cute and romantic as you, I love you more xxxxxxx.”
He also described his young lover as “perfect”, telling Edwards’ older sister Mary: “She always looks beutiful (sic).No matter what.”
Just 10 days before she became a victim, Edwards’ mum Elizabeth commented on her daughter’s new profile picture, saying: “Where’s your beautiful smile? x”
A minute later the killer replied: “It disappeared x.”
