Gloria be to this truly caring MP
Excellent MPs are exceptional people – true public servants rather than selfserving pocket-liners, prone to self-aggrandisement. On Wednesday, I was on the campaign trail in Nottinghamshire with my mate Gloria De Piero, the Labour MP for Ashfield.
I was amazed at how many people knew her. “Hi Gloria” constantly came at us as we pounded the streets.
Now that the election’s over, she’s trying to help Dawson Willcock, a gorgeous 20-month-old boy who has the same rare cancer that affected Michael Buble’s son Noah.
The treatment, only available in America, is costly and the family doesn’t have Mr Buble’s deep pockets. If as many people as possible donated £1, their dream of saving their son’s life could come true. My chat with Dawson’s mum Wendy is at my Twitter account.
