TIGERS ROAR WITH 224-RUN STAND
BANGLADESH rewrote the history books in beating New Zealand by five wickets to keep alive their Champions Trophy hopes.
The Black Caps made an underwhelming 265-8 but Tim Southee’s brilliant opening spell reduced Bangladesh to 12-3.
But a one-day record stand for the Tigers of 224 between Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Mahmudullah saw them complete a stunning win with 16 balls left.
They will qualify for the semifinals if England beat Australia today.
Shakib (right) scored 114 and Mahmudullah was 102 not out.
