Beer garden smoking ban
A PUB landlord has introduced one of Britain’s first smoke-free beer gardens.
Scott Westlake, 31, wanted to create a familyfriendly atmosphere.
Since June 1, smokers at the Myrtle Tavern, in Meanwood, Leeds, use an area at the front of the pub.
Scott said: “We’ve had a big rise in families with young children using the outdoor area.”
In April ministers rejected an outdoor smoking ban, fearing it may lead to pub closures.
