TERROR LAW CONCERNS

-

Any new powers introduced by the Government to fight against terrorism would have the potential, not only be used against extremists who might be plotting attacks, but also against workers, further eroding our rights in the workplace.

Those first to be affected would be staff in what the Government terms as ‘key jobs’, such as the security services, transport, power, the NHS and any others who dare to stand up for themselves. People should be aware that it’s a slippery slope. Arthur Wood Kippax, Leeds I beg to differ about the most important invention in history being the tea bag (Mirror, June 8). Where would we be without electricity? Where would any of us be today without fridges, TVs or internet? We are so blessed today it doesn’t bear thinking about. David Marsden, Bridlington, East Yorks l had never heard of Ariana Grande before the Manchester Arena atrocity, but when she hosted the One Love concert I was truly amazed at what a beautiful, caring young woman she is.

When she sang with the Parrs Wood High School Choir I had to reach for the tissues!

Let’s give Ariana the freedom of the city of Manchester to show her our appreciation. Ann Hoggarth, Hull
