Our favourite TV detective Luther is returning for a fifth run.

The gritty London crime drama, starring Idris Elba as hunky DCI John Luther, will film four new episodes early next year – twice as many as the last series in 2015.

Idris, 44, says he is thrilled to be “putting the coat back on”, while writer Neal Cross hints that Ruth Wilson, 35, might even reprise her role as psychopath Alice Morgan.

Neal teases: “We picked up the phone to some old friends and asked if they’d like to find out what happens next. It turns out they would. So that’s what we’re going to do.” Bring. It. On.
