Return of the Mac at Catalans
STEVE McNAMARA is poised to resume his Super League coaching career after seven years away.
The former Bradford and ex-England head coach is wanted by Catalans Dragons to preserve their top-flight status.
McNamara, 45, is only six months into a two-year deal as assistant coach at NRL outfit New Zealand Warriors.
But he will cut short his stay in Auckland to become successor to Laurent Frayssinous who was sacked last month.
Warrington skipper Chris Hill could miss Saturday’s Challenge Cup quarter-final with Wigan through suspension. He has been charged with a reckless shoulder charge in the defeat at Castleford.
Hill has the option of taking an early guilty plea but the offence carries a possible two-game ban.
